about me

Hi, I’m Jamie, a photographer based in beautiful Aberdeenshire, specialising in event and competition photography.
My passion for photography began at a young age, with a particular love for animals, wildlife and the outdoors. I got my first “proper” camera in 2009, around the same time I began participating in Flyball with my Border Collie, Holly. Photographing the competitions we hosted locally quickly became a natural way to combine two of my biggest interests, and it was the beginning of my journey into event photography.
Since then, my photography has grown from a hobby into a passion for capturing the excitement, determination and memorable moments that make sporting events so special. I regularly travel throughout Scotland to photograph events and competitions, and I also travel across the UK to cover larger championship events.
My connection with dog sports remains a big part of my photography journey. I am now lucky enough to be training and competing with the fantastic Deesidedly Flyball Team, while also enjoying training in agility. Being actively involved in these sports gives me a unique understanding of the action, the dogs and the moments that matter to competitors and handlers. Being involved from both sides of the camera helps me capture those fast-paced, genuine moments that can otherwise be easily missed.
Alongside photography, I am also a self-taught silversmith and enjoy creating individual, handmade pieces designed to be treasured for years to come. I currently specialise in memento jewellery, particularly fine silver nose-print pendants.
Whether I’m photographing a championship event, capturing the action at a local competition or creating a meaningful piece of jewellery, I love producing work that allows people to look back and remember a moment for years to come.
